Various thoughts that bear on the subject matter of this website, but may or may not be as yet incorporated into its main text:

We are each personally accountable to know the truth for ourselves, and not to merely parrot the religious teachings of those in authority over us. It would be a capricious God indeed who would reward some with eternal bliss for no other reason than that they happened to be born in a home subject to the proper religious authorities and conversely to damn those who were born subject to the wrong ones. Those who are lost in the end will not be lost because they believed a lie, but because they resisted and refused to believe the truth that God had made available to them.

It is a tendancy of the human mind - a tendancy against which we need to be on guard - to think about a problem just as deeply as is necessary to reach the conclusion we want.
